STF Do Well in Taekwondo Hanmadang '99

FROM 14-20 December 1999, the 6th International Taekwondo Hanmadang was held in Seoul, Korea. The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) was represented at the festival for the fourth successive year. The reason the STF has consistently sent teams for the event is two-fold: to introduce members to other aspects of taekwondo (besides competition sparring) and to allow those not good enough in sparring to perhaps pursue Poomsae (Pattern), Creative Poomsae, Taekwondo Gymnastics, Kyuckpa (Breaking) and Self-Defense.

The STF team, comprising its own players and those from the Chinese Swimming Club, Acme Taekwondo and Blackbeit Club, did well at the eight-day event. In the three events they participated in, the team brought home one 1st, three 2nds and one 3rd.
