THE NATIONAL men's team took part in the World Youth Taekwondo Festival/Chung Cheong College President's Cup in Korea from 17-22 August 1998. Seven of the country's best exponents were accompanied by three officials, including Singapore Sports Council representative, Mr Antony Lee. The delegation was headed by national coach, Miss Park Hyun Sook. She was the team manager and coach. With 22 countries from all over the globe taking part in the Chung Cheong College President's Cup, the competition was tough and exciting. Although inexperienced, the team went all out and Andy Yeo managed to clinch a bronze medal in the lightweight category. With more exposure to such international competitions, Singapore's taekwondo exponents will definitely benefit immensely.
