BLACKBELT CLUB

IS TWO YEARS OLD

Black belt club training
Members can only improve by exchanging techniques and experiences regularly

THE Blackbelt Club at Serangoon Gardens Community Club was officially kicked off on 12 August 1995 by Dr Lau Teik Soon, former MP for Thomson GRC. It is now going into its third year of existence. The club is a joint project of the Community Club and the Singapore Taekwondo Federation under the People's Association Matching Scheme.

The club is exclusively for taekwondo enthusiasts who have attained the blackbelt standard. It provides an avenue for them to train and upgrade their skills. Besides ensuring all members comply with the minimum code of professional conduct, the club also aims to provide a channel for promoting and cultivating esprit de corps. More importantly, it allows members to exchange techniques and experiences, thereby achieving greater heights in their skill level. Add to this is the hope that blackbelt holders will be encouraged to be members of the club, whether they re still active or even retired, so that there will be uniformity and continuity in their training.
