THE year 1999 marked the end of yet another important milestone in the history of Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) as it celebrated its Silver Jubilee cum 2nd Taekwondo Day Walk-A-Jog '99.

To commemorate its achievements, the STF organised the Walk-A-Jog on 25July 1999 at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall, The purpose of the event was two fold - firstly, to help raise funds in aid of the Renci Hospital and Asian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA) and secondly, for the STF Development Fund.
The Guest-of-Honour, Mr Wong Kan Seng, Minister for Home Affairs, flagged off the event.

The highlight of the morning's programme was the much anticipated "showtime" - a Taekwondo Aerobics and Taekwondo Demonstration display choreographed by Mr Tan Cheng Hui of the National Demonstration Team. The show wowed the audience, kids and adults alike.

This was followed by a Taekwondo Demonstration put up by the Police Special Operations Command and the
Blackbelt Club. The Guest-of-Honour then presented cheques of $20,000 each to Renci Hospital and the AWWA. The day concluded with a Lucky Draw.

The STF Silver Jubilee cum 2nd Taekwondo Day Walk-A-Jog'99 was indeed a tremendous success. And this is due in no small way to the many generous people and sponsors including Europa Holdings, Singapore Pools (Pte) Ltd and Siemens Advanced Engineering (Pte) Ltd and the good-spirited volunteers who made the event possible. The STF is grateful for all their contributions and effort.
